MANGUIN, HENRI (Paris 1874 - 1949 St. Tropez) Lauriers-Roses et Pétunias. 1941
We have been having a old spell the past several days, with temperatures down into the mid-twenties Fahrenheit (-4 C), and this has damaged the flowers on many of the aloes. However, this plant of Aloe ferox x arborescens has held up very well. This cross occurs naturally in South Africa where the 2 parents grow in the same area, and it was named at least twice as a species before it was shown to be a hybrid (Aloe salm-dyckiana, Aloe principis).
